Commodities: Lumber
Gold has continued to follow MM’s roadmap through 2024, and if it moves as expected into the second half of 2024, we expect a strong rally towards $US2500 over the coming months, i.e., 7% higher. The start of rate cuts in the US could easily trigger such a move by the rate-sensitive precious metal. Local gold stocks have underperformed of late, and we are looking for a trigger to suggest it is time to increase exposure to the Gold Sector.
Commodity prices have received plenty of publicity in both directions over the last 12-months with volatility reigning supreme. A few eye-catching headlines illustrate how cyclical in nature this space remains:
We touched on inflation in yesterdays Afternoon Report and I thought this morning would be an opportune time to add a few points to this critical topic
The lumber price has been almost out of control in 2021 as supply cannot get close to matching demand and as we saw last week any dips are being met with aggressive buying.
Really bullish, there's more to go in the reflation rally
