I would like your opinion as to why FMG has crashed – was forecast to be in the mid $20s by MM now around $16

Hi – interested in your thoughts on LYC, ILU, ARU (& any others) which are all correcting back after last year’s jolt. How do you rank them and do you see any of them as good value? The underlying “reliance on China” issue has moved out of the headlines but hasn’t really changed.
And thanks for all your efforts and insights – great stuff.
Cheers
Derek

Chrysos delivered an FY26 result that was broadly in line with expectations, but importantly, it avoided the deterioration in machine uptake that the market had become increasingly nervous about. Management was upbeat on the conference call, and the stock continued to trade well through the session, finishing ~17% higher, albeit off a low base.

Global metals recycling and resource recovery company Sims slipped (-5.7%) on Wednesday just 24-hours after we covered the stock here, liking the risk/reward in the $26-27 area, where it closed yesterday.

Global metals recycling and resource recovery company Sims has surged +56% through 2026 with this time the AI build-out being a driving factor, which we touched on when they upgraded earnings earlier in the year here. As is so often the case in both upgrade and downgrade cycles, things can repeat, and SGM lifted guidance again this month:

BlueScope Steel has surged +42% this year helped by a $32.25 joint takeover bid from SGH (Seven Group Holdings) and US steelmaker Steel Dynamics – a rare rebuff that has so far benefited shareholders. Interestingly, SGH recently announced a $500 million buyback, demonstrating capital discipline, and while we’re sure they remain very interested in BSL, their “Best & Final” offer may just be that.

Deterra is another resource business, but it comes with a James Bond-style twist. Deterra is a royalty company that generates revenue primarily from a royalty over BHP’s Mining Area C iron ore operations in the Pilbara, giving investors exposure to iron ore production without the operating risks of mining.
