HUB delivered another cracking result yesterday, underscoring its position as one of the fastest-growing wealth platforms in the country:
Hello James.
Hi Team,
I am interested in knowing what factors you take into account when adding an ‘emerging company’ to your portfolio and when to buy. I note you have missed out on a few that have been on your radar, due to price increasing. I have been watching a couple of micro caps DEM ( De. Mem) and OLL (Open Learning) that I would appreciate your views on both, if you have one. I appreciate a lot of growth companies are unprofitable and you don’t want to buy too soon, but also not too late, after the share price as moved too much. What are the key factors that need to be looked at once an emerging company is on your radar?
Thank you, Chris
A month ago, CAR released a weaker-than-expected report and announced the departure of its long-standing CEO. At the time, we saw better risk/reward elsewhere and took profit from our position.
IRE –7.23%: posted a FY25 result that showed stronger-than-expected revenue growth in continuing businesses (+6.8%) but a softer earnings after higher than expected R&D spend.
Global trends matter for local stocks, helping shape how we think about opportunities closer to home. Last week, Booking Holdings (owner of Booking.com, Priceline and OpenTable) reported a strong set of numbers – earnings up 32%, bookings across their platforms up 13% YoY, and profits beating consensus by 10% thanks to better margins.
PXA +16.53%: Stormed higher after it signed a deal with the UK’s National Westminster Bank to facilitate mortgage transactions on its platform.
