We covered NXL earlier in the month here post a soft trading update that saw the stock “hit for six”. At that time, we added NXL to our Hitlist for the Emerging Companies Portfolio, but we’re yet ready to hit the buy button.
HSN’s stock price has fallen -10% since releasing its 1H25 result, which MM thought was a good one when we covered it here. We note there have been some mixed opinions written about it since, with a bearish thesis doing the rounds that highlighted a decline in their core business as a reason for concern.
Baidu is often called “China’s Google” and is a major AI research and development player. The Beijing-based $US30bn company has an advanced AI division, Baidu AI Cloud, and has developed the Ernie AI model, which is a competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
IRE was smacked 14.5% on Monday after reporting FY24 results that were weaker than expected and guidance for FY25 was underwhelming. Rising costs were/are the issue and this result will likely be a negative for Iress users (i.e. us) who will now be asked to pay for their inability to run the business efficiently, with price increases coming across the board.
WTC –20.09%: Whacked today on downgraded guidance and the resignation of four non-exec Directors from the board. Lots of headlines about this which will provide fodder for the media.

We like CAR but exited the stock on valuation grounds in December; the current weakness is addressing this issue, with the stock already down ~13% from its late 2024 high.
