NFLX was the only major tech name managing to eke out strong gains overnight, adding to the previous sessions’ drive higher after the streaming business reported its fourth-quarter earnings on Tuesday.
Oracle (ORCL US) surged overnight after Trumps Stargate announcement but the $US520bn tech giant was already enjoying a strong few years, with this week’s news just giving the stock another leg-up. ORCL shares jumped ~7% on news that the software maker is involved in a joint venture with OpenAI and SoftBank to build AI intelligence infrastructure in the U.S.
Google’s parent company, Alphabet (GOOGL US), was a standout winner overnight, surging more than +5% after the company unveiled “Willow,” its latest quantum computing chip. When quantum computing matures, it is expected to be useful for large-scale simulations and code-breaking, but that may not be possible for years or decades.

Overnight Salesforce (CRM US) surged to new highs after the AI boom fuelled strong earnings growth. The company’s revenue grew 8% YoY during the fiscal quarter while net income was up 25% to $US1.5bn.

My question today relates to a small company called Qoria which is focused in the areas of cyber security and parental online controls.
They appear to be expanding very quickly into this important worldwide area via direct application through parents but also via the education system in Australia, USA & UK.
Your thoughts on whether you believe this to be a growth area worth following would be appreciated.

The ASX is a stock we have often thought would fit the Active Income Portfolio well. While its yield may be lower than our target, we offset that by holding some positions with a yield higher than our target, with the ASX making up for it by improving the quality and certainty of earnings.
It’s easy to grab profits, but psychologically, it’s harder for many to run them, yet all trading and investment books spout, “Run your profits and cut your losses.”
MP1 -9.45% While MP1 reaffirmed FY25 guidance today, that was all in-line with the market, their rhetoric around FY26, whereby they said they were expecting a similar growth trajectory to this year saw the market underwhelmed, expecting a step up in growth in FY26.
